There are sooo many reasons for us all to be panicked and stressed...the pandemic which constantly threatens health, employment, social connectedness; natural disasters like fire and flooding; government shifts in leadership & governing bodies changing policy that will impact livelihoods and access to quality care!!! For others this time of year just hurts from significant losses and change of seasons.
But an internal state of stress only worsens our focus and energy to manage what faces us. It is an internal sense of peace, trust, and knowing there is possibility in the future that can help our nervous system switch from sympathetic (reactive) to parasympathetic (calm and collected). In this calm state we can think clearer and strategize better.
So how do we get to a place of security and calmness....it's different for everyone! Some hold strong onto their faith while others focus on physical activity as a stress outlet, and others choose relaxing activities and distractors, and yet others use focused energy to face things head on to decrease stress.
What stresses are you facing? How to you manage stress?
Wishing you a day with parasympathetic overdrive during opportunities to overcome.
