Spider
Veins &
Vascular
Lesions

Facial Veins
Broken capillaries can appear for a number of different reasons, most commonly as the result of damage from sun exposure and excess dilation from a source of inflammation or irritation like rosacea acne. Over zealous scrubbing, aging, genetics, hormones, the use of birth control pills and certain conditions can also come into play.

Painful injections or layers of foundation aren’t necessary. You can finally stop struggling to cover them up because laser and IPL (intense pulsed light) can banish broken facial capillaries.  The process is quick, low risk and there’s no recovery time.

We pass a laser handheld device over the skin and the light energy cauterizes the damaged veins. The body naturally reabsorbs the pooled blood and redirects future blood flow to veins deeper below the skin.

Spider Leg Veins

Life has a way of leaving its mark on our skin. Unfortunately, sometimes this mark is in the form of a road map of blue, purple and red bulging veins. But there’s no need to hide your legs under pants and stockings year-round or endure painful injections.

Varicose and spider veins can crop up for a number reasons. They’re often due to genetics but environmental factors like pregnancy, spending a lot of time on your feet, poor diet, obesity, hormonal changes, inactivity and sun exposure can also play a role. Basically, when you have weak valves that can’t push blood through the vein it creates a traffic jam of sorts. The blood gets stuck leading to the appearance of varicose veins and spider veins.

Laser treatment is the safest, most natural way to treat these unsightly spider veins and varicose veins on your legs. We pass a laser over the vein so that light energy can make its way through the skin. It helps liquefy the coagulated blood that is trapped in the vessel. Your lymphatic system then simply flushes it out. The alternative is to inject them with chemicals, which is far more painful and requires a longer recovery. Plus, smaller spider veins cannot be treated with injections.
Trust the Gentle Max Pro to remove unwanted facial and body veins and cherry angioma efficiently and effectively all skin types. It uses laser technology to deliver an intense but gentle burst of energy onto targeted areas of the skin, delivering a controlled amount of therapeutic heat to the targeted area safely and effectively. The advantages of using lasers to remove unwanted telangiectasias include the speed and noninvasive nature of treatment, as well as the size and depth of vessels that can be treated with laser therapy versus sclerotherapy.

Some patients may feel slight discomfort with each laser pulse, sometimes described like the snapping of a rubber bank on the skin. The discomfort resolves quickly and is minimized by the patented Dynamic Cooling or air cooling. Large treatment areas may also result in some swelling which can dissipate with application of cold therapy and sleeping upright for a few days. The number of sessions depends on the treatment you require and the condition of your skin. Many patients see progress after only one treatment.

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT
MUST SHAVE the treatment area prior to appointment. It is best to shave the area as close to your scheduled appointment as possible; shave in the shower as it delivers the closest shave. The closer the shave, the less chance of skin irritation post treatment.

USE SUNSCREEN with an SPF of at least 30 daily. Tanned skin cannot be treated. Sun exposure must be avoided two weeks prior to treatment.

AVOID any irritants on and around the area, such as any products containing Hydroquinone, bleaching creams, Retin A, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids or astringents for at least one week prior to treatment.

DO NOT use self-tanning agents for at least two weeks before any treatment. If you have used these products, thoroughly cleanse the area with an abrasive/exfoliating scrub to remove all product two weeks prior to treatment.

DO NOT pluck or wax the area at least one week prior to Laser Vein Therapy.

DO NOT use bleach or “Nair”-type products on the area for two weeks prior to treatment. This can cause irritation and burns to the skin.

MUST NOT be on any photosynthesizing medication (with a warning label against sun exposure).

Please inform us if you are taking any new antibiotics or medications, as some may make your skin photosensitive and therefore, we may not be able to treat you for 1-2 weeks after completion of antibiotics.

Do not take aspirin or other anti-inflammatories (e.g., ASA, Advil/Ibuprofen/Aleve) one week before and after treatment. Tylenol may be used.
