Summer vacations are behind us, the kids are back in school, we’re settling into our fall routines, and the weather is often cooler and windier. It’s a great time to provide your skin with some special treatments after a long, sunny summer. Exposure to the harsh summer sun can speed up the visible signs of aging by contributing to the formation of fine lines and wrinkles when elasticity and degradation of collagen and elastin occurs. Uneven pigmentation changes within the skin may have worsened as the melanin was stimulated with under-protected sun exposure. While many non-surgical aesthetic treatments require little to no downtime, it’s often best to avoid direct sunlight following some treatments, as the targeted area may be photosensitive immediately following the session. If your skin has also visible signs like dryness or even dehydration, a microneedling with PRP or rejuvenation serum can work in the deeper layers of your skin and restore the hydration and glow that has gone missing. As well, sliding into a fall routine better allows for consistent appointments, making it the ideal season to book that consultation and start a new treatment series. Finally, as we prep for the holidays and a new year, it’s always a bonus to get a head start on holiday party beauty prep and New Year’s resolutions. Have a great day/evening with your favorite drink to warm you from the inside out☕ Cindy Fehr RN(NP) https://linktr.ee/cfehr1 How about this for inspiration... Leonardo Da Vinci, an artist, inventor, pioneer, genius (and probably time traveler) was born on a Thursday, on April 15, 1452 - so if that doesn't inspire you to think differently about the power of Thursday, well ...besides, the weekend isn't that far away ... Or alternatively, be someone’s sunshine today 🌞 Have a fun and inspiring Thursday Cindy Fehr RN(NP) https://linktr.ee/cfehr1 Glabella lines are often termed the dreaded “11s”, "frown lines", or "furrowed brow". These are the short vertical lines between the eyebrows and are often stronger in men than women. These 'anger lines' or 'frustration signs' are often the first lines to appear on the forehead, even as early as your mid- 20s. Aesthetically, glabella lines make an upper face look heavy and tired. What can make the 11's worse: ❌stress and muscle tension ❌unprotected sun exposure ❌smoking & other environmental pollutants ❌excessive fried foods, sugar, or lots of caffeine ❌photosensitivity causing you to squint ❌side sleeping Possible therapeutic options to improve the glabellar area: ✔neuromodulation support ✔microneedling ✔medical-grade skincare products ✔stress reduction techniques ✔healthy diet with sufficient hydration ✔silk pillowcase Consultations are always complimentary so book yours today! Cindy Fehr RN(NP) https://linktr.ee/cfehr1 Massage your moisturizer into your skin in small, circular motions. Don't forget about also moisturizing your neck! Cindy Fehr RN(NP) https://linktr.ee/cfehr1 How will you spend your Sunday?
I would love to hear your ideas? Enjoy your Sunday 😊 Cindy Fehr RN(NP) While we have been hiding our lips under masks for over a year, it is time to finally reveal them to the world. If your mask was hiding thinner lips or small lines around your mouth, there is no reason to hide your lips any longer.
If you have been considering lip filler treatment, you probably have many thoughts and questions. Is it possible to get truly natural-looking lips that also feel natural? Will people notice that I have had anything “done” to my lips? Will it hurt? Of course, you want others to think that you have beautiful, full lips, but many people do not want others to notice that they have had a lip injection. In just a short time, your lips are fuller, better shaped, and moisturized. Because lip fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, they instantly plump and shape your lips. The hyaluronic acid attracts water to keep your lips looking moisturized and healthy day after day. Lip filler treatment starts with a local anesthetic to prevent discomfort (e.g. topical lidocaine). Next, an antiseptic is applied to the areas where the injections will take place. Then the filler (also containing lidocaine) is injected into the designated areas. Swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort can be expected over the first few days, which are treated with over-the-counter pain relievers and arnica. Sunlight sensitivity may also occur, so avoid direct sunlight for the first few days after treatment. Expect it to take two weeks to get the full results of lip filler treatments. What are you waiting for...bring back lost volume to your lips and help reduce the appearance of surrounding mouth wrinkles by improving tissue density, making it less prone to wrinkling. Book your complimentary consult today to see if you are a candidate for lip filler 💋 Cindy Fehr RN(NP) As temperature drops, days get shorter, and air gets drier, your skincare needs to shift too. 1️⃣ Hydration: How about herbal tea or warm lemon water between your Pumpkin Spice Lattes or hot toddies. Water hydrates the skin, increases the metabolic rate and flushes out toxins - a win-win-win. 2️⃣ Cleanser: Change from your gel or foaming cleanser to a lotion-based cleanser for further hydration and skin lubrication. 3️⃣ Exfoliation: Do away with dead skin cells while boosting hydration for skin to stand up to the elements. Change your gentle exfoliant to chemical-based ones. Swap out your sugar scrubs for formulas that contain acids, which break the bonds between dead skin cells and effectively melt them away. 4️⃣ Moisturizing: Protect against moisture loss by changing to something thicker so stay away from lotions and think about creams and emollients. 5️⃣ Face Mask Updates: Switch from water-based gel masks to creamier, more moisturizing oil-based masks to plump up dry skin. Remember, dry skin stimulates more sebum production, leading to pimples. 6️⃣ Humidifiers: Is your home or work environment super dry? Consider a humidifier - not just good for stuffy noses. Adding humidity to dry air helps prevent skin moisture from evaporating. Snag a cold air humidifier and replace the water daily to avoid bacteria and mold growth. Questions?
