How long is the appointment?
The appointment can be anywhere from 2.5- 3.5 hours depending how much natural pigmentation we are trying to correct to achieve your desired colour. Is it painful? Some clients find the lip blush treatment to be totally painless and some clients do feel some discomfort. To optimize your experience, all clients will be pre-numbed with topical anesthesia before treatment and numbing cream is also used throughout the entire procedure to ensure your utmost comfort. |
How long does it last? Between 1 and 3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle and how carefully you follow your aftercare. What is the typical healing time? Typical healing time for lip blush is 3-5 days. You will notice your lips a little swollen immediately after treatment but will subside in 24-48 hours. From day 2-5 lips will look dry and chapped which can be soothed with the application of our aftercare balm. Be aware that the colour will vary quite a lot during the healing process before reaching the final colour that you agreed upon with your provider. Can I still get filler with Lip Blushing?
Yes, absolutely; Lip Blushing compliments lip filler to help you achieve the best results for fuller, plumper, symmetrical lips that your girlfriends will all be jealous of. We do recommend that for best results you get lip blushing at least 6 weeks after your lip filler so your lips have time to heal in between. The blushing tint and procedure will not affect your fillers as we work on different skin layers. If you are choosing to get lip filler after lip blushing, we recommend waiting at least 2 weeks so your lips are fully healed from the lip blushing treatment. Will Lip Blushing cover my fordyce spots? Fordyce spots (aka Fordyce granules) are the whitish-yellow slightly raised bumps that can occur on the edge of your lips and are actually sebaceous (oil) glands that help keep your lips lubricated. Yes, lip blushing can help blend these spots to the color of the rest of your lip. |
Are there any risks with Lip Blushing?
Lip blushing is as minor cosmetic procedure and commonly you will experience swelling, mild redness and possibly mild bruising or discomfort. If you follow our aftercare recommendations you are much less likely to experience infection, uneven colouration or scarring. If you are prone to cold sores or NP clinical director will prescribe antiviral medication (unless contraindicated) for you to take prior to your procedure. Who cannot get Lip Blushing? Lip blushing is best for lighter skin types. Those with darker skin and lips or thicker lip skin will need a longer consult to make sure lip blushing is right for you. While we appreciate your are keen to get started on your lip blushing, we are not providing lip blushing for those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, are undergoing treatment for cancer, have a serious health condition, or susceptibility to scarring. |
