How it works:
Once a vial of blood is collected from your arm (like when you go for a blood test), your medical aesthetic practitioner places the sample in a centrifuge to separate the concentrated platelets from the rest of the blood. This concentrated plasma, which is now the platelet-rich plasma can be drawn up for varied treatment options, either on its own or by combining it with other treatments. |
Skin Rejuvenation
While outcomes vary, patients see improved skin texture and tone, minimizing the appearance of pores, smooths wrinkles and fine lines, and minimizes the appearance of hyperpigmentation and scarring (e.g. acne & stretch marks). PRP can be combined with microneedling for best results or it can also be injected directly. The platelets are injected into the deep dermis or fat layer of the skin. Platelets gradually increase collagen which can increase skin thickness and overall health of the skin. Collagen rejuvenation can take from 6 weeks depending on the condition of your skin and lifestyle. More then one treatment will be necessary if the skin is mature. Many patients will start to see results after three months and will continue to see improvements over time. |
Chest & Neck Rejuvenation
If your neck skin is lax, has irregular pigmentation and broken capillaries or excess redness then PRP can help. Platelet rich plasma contains a high concentration of cytokines and growth factors and can be used to treat wrinkles, sun damage, scars, burns, acne and other skin conditions for chest and neck rejuvenation. PRP treatment may be combined with microneedling, cannula work, or direct injections. On average, three treatments are needed for maximum results. Follow-up treatments every six to twelve months can help maintain skin texture and tone. |
Hair Regrowth & Restoration
The growth factors found in PRP are vital when it comes to hair loss treatment for men and women. PRP is directly injected or applied after microneedling to the scalp and can aid in the strengthening and nourishment of active hair follicles to prompt production of new and healthy hair. It is typically used in the treatment androgenetic alopecia, a common condition that causes hair follicles to shrink. In males, this is called male pattern baldness but it is also common in women. Although PRP is a relatively new approach, there is some scientific evidence to suggest that it can promote hair growth in areas of hair thinning. Treatments may be performed a 1-2 times a year for maintenance however most clients starting a hair loss treatment plan likely need a series of treatments for noticeable results. |
Hand Rejuvenation
Your hands are one of the first areas to show your true age, what work you do, and how well you care for your skin. PRP for hand rejuvenation can be used as a stand alone procedure or mixed with fillers depending on your clients desired results. What does PRP for hand rejuvenation treat?
